What we do
The role of the Finance and Research Administration Office is to facilitate financial operations in compliance with Departmental, University and Sponsor regulations.
The Finance and Research Administration Office also offers services such as review and approval of financial transactions, reporting, forecasting and policy interpretation, as well as financial system training and development of job aids.

Ronnie Mugimu, Associate Director of Finance and Research Administration
Oversees MCB Financial operations team, managed by Young-Ok Shoemake, and Research Administration team managed by Chris Potter.
Chris Potter, Assistant Director for Research Administration
Manages Research Administration operations which includes all pre- and post-award administration.
Young-Ok Shoemake, Assistant Director for Financial Systems
Manages Procurement operations, manages financial operations, and the financial operations of MCB Service Centers.

Sr. Research Portfolio Manager
Manages the full lifecycle of complex sponsored research portfolios. Independently oversees pre- and post-award administration, providing advanced financial forecasting, compliance auditing, and technical guidance for dedicated labs. Acts as a subject matter expert and department representative to optimize research procedures and ensure strict alignment with university and federal regulations.

Research Portfolio Manager
Provides comprehensive pre- and post-award support to faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and students. Reviews, approves and processes financial transactions related to dedicated labs while ensuring compliance. Also oversees the financial state of those portfolios by analyzing expenditures and forecasting future spending.
